English – We are moving into point of view, just wrapped up characterization. Our first novel is within sight and will begin at the end of October! Humanities is starting “Cage the Animals at Night”.
Math – Continuing integer operations and beginning equation solving! (A “balanced” approach)
Social Studies – We’re getting dramatic with thematic maps.
Spanish – We’re saying goodbye to greetings. Descriptions are approaching.
Science – Working on the metric system, and measurements. Mass, volume, and density soon (o my!)
IMC – We are beginning to podcast book reviews in our own broadcasting studio. 7th grade book match is underway!
« Week of Sept 21st-25th
English – Plugging away on the literary terms(coming your way all quarter). Diving in to grammar and word study! The beginnings of our home journal are underway. Working on perfecting 5 point paragraphs. Humanities is wrapping up “The Little Prince” and writing a 5 point essay on the theme.
Math – Algebra and Adv. Algebra studying properties. Pre-algebra test on Chapter 1!
Science – Students are writing up their very first lab report entirely in class. Writing, graphs, charts, and all! Science test on Friday…scientific method.
Spanish – Continuing greetings! Students have begun asking basic introductory questions.
Soc Studies – Cool Globes are done, so is Chapter one, quiz is coming up on block day(rhyme by Ms. Dimitriou, please e-mail her with all compliments or other comments)
Welcome October… »« Week of September 14th-18th!
English – We’re continuing to study the literary terms, such as setting and plot. In writing we’re constructing 5 point paragraphs, and jumping straight into grammar with sentences and nouns.
Math – Chapter 1 test coming next week! We’re exploring variables and moving on into integers. Mrs. McGrath’s classes are memorizing decimals, percents, and ratios.
Science – We’re continuing to study the scientific method, and will beginning lab reports in the very near future! The block days bring us our first labs of the year:)
Spanish – We’re learning to meet, greet, and converse in Spanish…Hola!
Soc Studies – Students are going “global” constructing their Cool Globes dealing with current geographic issues.

Welcome to the official 7th grade team website! This website will serve to enhance communication and collaboration between the 7th grade team and our Edgewood community. Please note that we will do our best to update the team website weekly, so that you can be informed on current happenings occurring at the team level. The site will provide weekly overviews for your child’s classes and is subject to change. Please use the site as an additional resource in addition to your student’s assignment notebook, teacher webpages, and the homework hotline.
